Free nutrition dataset: 189 foods, per 100 g and per 100 calories
One CSV with calories, macros, minerals and vitamins for 189 common foods, taken from USDA FoodData Central. Each row keeps the USDA row name and its FoodData Central id, so you can check any number. It also has per-100-calorie columns, which is the basis our food rankings use.

What is in it
One row per food. Columns: slug, display_name, usda_row_name, category, fdc_id, calories_kcal, protein_g, fat_g, carbs_g, fiber_g, sugar_g, saturated_fat_g, cholesterol_mg, sodium_mg, potassium_mg, calcium_mg, iron_mg, magnesium_mg, zinc_mg, vitamin_a_mcg, vitamin_c_mg, protein_g_per_100kcal, fiber_g_per_100kcal, calcium_mg_per_100kcal, iron_mg_per_100kcal, potassium_mg_per_100kcal.
Every value is per 100 g of the food in the state the USDA row describes. The per-100-kcal columns divide by that row's calories.
Read this before you use it
The food's state matters. Some rows are raw and some are cooked, and a few are a specific product. For example, the row we use for olive oil is the USDA blend of corn, peanut and olive oil. The column usda_row_name shows exactly what each row is, and fdc_id links to the USDA record.
Blank means missing. If USDA has no value for a nutrient, the cell is empty. It is not a zero.
It is a sample, not the whole USDA database. It covers 189 commonly searched foods. Values are rounded as USDA rounds them, so per-calorie ratios for low-calorie foods are less precise.
